Kementerian Pembangunan Sumber dan Kemajuan Teknologi Maklumat (KPSKTM)
Kementerian Pembangunan Sumber dan Kemajuan Teknologi Maklumat sebagaimana yang diumumkan nama barunya oleh Ketua Menteri Sabah pada 20 Mac 1999, merupakan Kementerian yang sebelum ini dikenali sebagai Kementerian Pembangunan Sumber dan Perusahaan. Kementerian ini diwujudkan pada 17 November 1995. Jabatan dan agensi yang diletakkan di bawah tanggungjawab Kementerian adalah:-
i. Jabatan Pembangunan Sumber Manusia (JPSM);
ii. Unit Kemajuan IT Negeri;
iii. Sabah Energy Corporation;
iv. SSTC (Sabah Skills & Technology Centre);

Unit Kemajuan IT Negeri (KIT)
Originally established under the Chief Minister's Department on 1 February 2000, KIT has moved to the Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology effective 27 March 2003 vide Gazette no. 707.
The main responsibilities of KIT are to implement the State Public Sector IT Master Plan, to serve as the Secretariat to the Sabah IT Council and to administer the State-wide network - Sabah.Net - within the framework of the policies.
Vision
In line with the aspirations of the Sabah IT Council, the vision of KIT is to be the lead vehicle to spearhead and facilitate the development of IT in Sabah.
Mission
The mission of KIT is to encourage the deployment and usage of IT as a strategic tool in the transformation of our society to one that is rich in information and an economy that is driven by knowledge.
Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Negeri Sabah (JPKN)
Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Negeri Sabah (JPKN) ditubuhkan oleh Kerajaan Negeri Sabah pada awal tahun 1976 di bawah kawalan Kementerian Kewangan dan mula beroperasi pada 01 Januari 1977. Ibu pejabat jabatan ini terletak di Bangunan Wisma Kewangan, Kota Kinabalu. Jabatan ini juga mempunyai tiga pejabat cawangan iaitu JPKN Sandakan, JPKN Tawau dan JPKN Keningau.
Fungsi-Fungsi Jabatan:
- Memberikan perkhidmatan pengkomputeran.
- Melaksanakan perancangan pengkomputeran negeri.
- Mengkaji, merekabentuk, menguji, membangunkan, melaksanakan, menyelenggara dan mengkaji semula sistem-sistem aplikasi komputer.
- Memberi khidmat nasihat tentang perkara-perkara mengenai komputer dan penubuhan pusat-pusat komputer di jabatan pengguna.
- Menyediakan dokumen tawaran tender untuk pembelian komputer dan peralatannya.
- Menyelidik perkara-perkara yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan teknologi komputer.
- Memberi latihan penggunaan komputer.
- Memberi khidmat pemasukan dan pemprosesan data.
- Menyediakan perkhidmatan pusat sumber dan rujukan IT.
- Menyediakan kemudahan sumber dan bahan-bahan rujukan untuk perolehan maklumat dalam bidang IT. Perkhidmatan ini disediakan kepada semua kakitangan kementerian, jabatan dan badan berkanun Kerajaan Negeri Sabah.
- Memberikan khidmat gunasama pegawai-pegawai bidang teknikal komputer
Sabah State Library
Sabah State Library (SSL) was established in 1953 as a section under the Department of Information to provide library services and information for the community in Sabah.
As of today, Sabah State Library is made up of an extensive network comprising a Headquarters, a City Library, 3 Regional Libraries, 18 branches, 13 mobile libraries, 3 cybermobile (Des@Net) and 52 Village/Cyber libraries. The Headquarters of the State Library is housed in its own building located along Jalan Tasik, Off Jalan Maktab Gaya, 88300 Luyang, Kota Kinabalu.
Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM)
Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) is the regulator for the converging communications and multimedia industry. The role of the SKMM is to implement and promote the Government's national policy objectives for the communications and multimedia sector via Kementerian Tenaga, Air dan Komunikasi (KTAK). SKMM is also charged with overseeing the new regulatory framework for the converging industries of telecommunications, broadcasting and on-line activities.
Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia issues licences under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, the Postal Services Act 1991 and the Digital Signature Act 1997. Apart from licensing, Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia also subject to establish the powers, functions for Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia and powers and procedures for the administration of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 including to manage National Spectrum, enforce, economic regulation, monitor of non-compliances by licensees (i.e. anti-competitive behaviour) and social regulation (including education and awareness programs).
Consumer protection is a significant feature in the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 where the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is committed in ensuring consumers enjoy choice and satisfactory level of services at affordable price, benefit through provisioning of necessary services and effective handling of complaints. KKIPC came into existence in November 1996. The statewide Intranet - Sabah.Net is actively supported by KKIPC in managing, monitoring and enhancing the quality of the service.

Sabah Computer Society
Sabah Computer Society is a Non Governmental Organisation, registered with the Registrar of Societies in 19th November 1979. It has been actively promoting ICT awareness and literacy to the people of Sabah together with the State Government or any other organisation. Amongst others, the objective of the Society is to foster an informed public opinion regarding computation and computing machinery and techniques related thereto.
