The main objective of the Sabah ICT Month 2009 is to commemorate and recognise the initiatives undertaken over the years. At the same time, the event is also an avenue for:
- Promoting ICT as a key enabler for enhancing the State's strategic competitiveness
- Boosting " boosting the development of ICT as a strategic industry in support of the State's Halatuju Pembangunan
- Recognising the contribution of the ICT industry to the economic development of the State
