Digital Hide & Seek 2011

Objective

There is a hidden server with a PDF document on its desktop located in the ICT Fiesta exhibition hall. Players must penetrate the server via the wireless access point. The first person to inform the competition organiser the passphrase in the PDF document wins.

Competition Description

The competition is organised by KKIPC Sdn Bhd with the support of the Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology of Sabah.

The competition runs for 3 consecutive days from Friday 25 November 2011 to Sunday 27 November 2011 from 10 am to 8 pm daily (or during the course of the ICT Fiesta). The complexity of the competition will increase each day.

Should there be no winner for Day 1 Beginner Level and/or Day 2 Intermediate Level, the challenges will continue until the respective winners emerge or until the end of the competition.

The competition organisers are stationed at the KKIPC booth. Players must present their valid MyKad to the competition organiser before disclosing their answer. If necessary, players may be asked to write down the answer on paper for further verification.

Entry to the competition is free. No registration is required. However, players may fill in their mobile phone or email contact to receive updates before and/or during the competition using the Digital Hide And Seek 2011 Contact Form in this link :

This competition is open to ICT Fiesta visitors only. Players must be Sabahans posessing a valid MyKad. Players must use their own equipment e.g. notebooks, laptops, etc to participate in this competition. Competition is limited to one winner per prize.

Prizes

The prize will be presented to the winners at the Bulan ICT Gala Nite Dinner on a date and at a venue to be advised.

Terms and Conditions of Participation

  1. By participating in this competition, players agree that they have accepted the terms and conditions stated below.
  2. Players must be Sabahans posessing a valid MyKad. We reserve the right to implement additional age requirements where necessary. The competition is not open to employees and their immediate families of KKIPC Sdn Bhd, affiliated companies and subsidiaries.
  3. All prizes are non-transferable. No cash alternative will be offered. Arrangements for the fulfilment of prizes will be made by the organiser. The organiser reserves the right in our sole discretion to substitute any and all prizes with prizes of comparable value. No changes can be made to the prize by the winner. All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer or supplier. The organiser will not replace any lost or stolen prize items once in the winner's possession. The winners further acknowledges that the organiser is not responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee (whether express or implied, in fact or in law) in relation to any prize, including but not limited to its quality or mechanical condition.
  4. The winner(s) are solely responsible for all insurance, applicable taxes and for any expenses not specified in the prize description.
  5. Any prizes that are mistakenly credited to the winner(s) remain the property of the organiser, which must be returned.
  6. The organiser does not accept responsibility for any liability arising from postponement or cancellation of the competition due to power failure, natural disaster, technical problems relating to the Internet, or technical difficulties of any kind.
  7. The personal information provided to the organiser during the competition will be used solely for the purposes of this competition. The organiser undertakes to meet its obligations to keep any personal information confidential unless otherwise required by law, by any governmental or other regulatory authority or by a court or other authority of competent jurisdiction.
  8. The organiser shall not be liable, whether in tort, contract, misrepresentation or otherwise for loss of profits, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goods, loss of use, loss or corruption of data or information, or any special, indirect, consequential or pure economic loss, costs, damages, charges or expenses.
  9. All costs and expenses (such as travel to the competition, accommodation, taxes, duties and all other incidental costs or expenses) are the responsibility of the players.
  10. Players must maintain good conduct and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Any player whose conduct the organiser considers improper, offensive or likely to endanger the safety and harmony of the competition, may be disqualified from the competition.
  11. The organiser reserves the right to alter, amend or supplement these terms and conditions from time to time at our absolute discretion. Players agree that they shall be bound by such changes and that they shall not hold the organiser liable for any losses resulting from any such changes.
  12. The competition will be run at the organiser's discretion with the aim of being as fair as possible. However, the organiser's decision is final.
